Fulfillment Solution for Playmobil®

  • Brownfield end-to-end solution for toys manufacturer
  • Highly dynamic goods-to-person solution
  • Modular design allows the solution to expand up to twice its current size as volumes increase

The geobra Brandstätter Stiftung & Co. KG, manufacturer of Playmobil® is expanding their existing Playmobil® distribution center in Herrieden, Germany. TGW has been appointed to design and implement a fulfillment solution for the 7.5 cm play figures.

In their new facility, Playmobil®, will be handling eCommerce and retail orders. The retailer will invest 8 million Euros into the new material handling solution, which is based on a highly dynamic ASRS system (three shuttle aisles) with more than 24,000 storage locations. The items will be picked at ergonomic picking workstations, which are connected via TGW's KingDrive® conveyors. The system design is based on a modular concept and can be doubled.

Georg Kirchmayr, Chief Executive Officer at TGW Logistics Group, is happy about the collaboration: "With Playmobil®, TGW could acquire a well-known traditional brand that has a strong potential for growth. We were able to convince Playmobil® with our future-proof concept and are looking forward to a successful partnership.”
